There is not one type of learning style in modern society. The way a person absorbs information can depend on many things; such as the way it is delivered or the environment in which someone receives said facts. I learn by working through my mistakes, and bettering myself through reflection after the fact. Hands-on and visual presentations grab my attention and learning through experience is the one true way I can process a new concept. Unfortunately, for me, this is not the type of learning that is encouraged in a traditional public school infrastructure. Furthermore, I am a very passion driven learner. This means if there is something that interests me, I am going to want to learn everything I can about it. Out of all the classes I took throughout my high school experience, I can count on one hand the classes that I was fully invested in. I thought I hated learning, until I entered the capstone class. This was the first time I had research based learning as the norm, which gave me a whole new perspective on what education could be. Capstone gave me the liberty to learn how I want to learn, to grow at my own pace, and to give me a head start at succeeding in life after primary and secondary education.
